&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; After all these years of riding motorcycles, you'd think there was nothing new left to do.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Saturday, I picked up my new Roulette Green Speed Triple from Hattar Motorsports.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mike in service gave me a briefing, which included an unusual protocol for breaking in the engine.&nbsp; Apparently, the engines break in better with a little more engine speed than most motorcycles.&nbsp; 4,000-6,500 rpm for the first 100 miles, with no harsh inputs.&nbsp; After that, right up to the 9,500 redline.&nbsp; Apparently, if you don't do this, the engine may be really slow to break in, and with the semi synthetic and synthetic oil, the alternative is possible high oil consumption.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Okay, whatever.&nbsp; All I can say is, WOW!&nbsp; This is one of those motorcycles that I suspect everyone who buys one likes.&nbsp; Tremendous ease of applying power, great brakes, easy handling.&nbsp; The big surprise was how comfortable the bike was.&nbsp; I had no wrist issues (there is very little pressure on the wrists, because you are sitting mostly upright with a forward lean), and the wind holds you up.&nbsp; The only time I had any discomfort was when doing really tight twisties, and then only because I think I was holding the bars too tightly because I was new to the bike.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Wonderful in crosswinds - a combination of low center of gravity, and not much plastic bodywork.&nbsp; <br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; While it isn't a touring bike, for sure, it did make a 120 mile first ride quite pleasant.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The experience itself - amazing.&nbsp; Whatever you want, whenever you want, right there, right now.&nbsp; Easy, easy, easy.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Definitely one of those things where you have an idea of what makes riding a motorcycle more fun than a car, then you get to try the experience distilled.&nbsp; Better than you ever thought it would be.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; More to come as I get used to the bike, and the miles pile on.<br /> 10 application/xml false Break In Comfort Hattar Motorsports Speed Triple Triumph Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 mpadway 63.205.182.177 false true false false true 201650 false false true false false false true 106832 blog blogsite/MichaelPadway/web
