Earned One, Never Received One

More than once, I have ridden more than the 1,500 miles in 36 hours required to obtain an Iron Butt certificate (although I admit that I have never researched the requirements for verification).     Part of the reason is that I don't know what I would do with one a certificate, but part of the reason is that I don't think it is any big deal.     I thought of this while reading a review by Jamie Elvidge of the new Victory Vision.  As you know, I think this bike is a breakthrough in the cruising/touring category.  It almost certainly will be a big winner for Victory.     As bikes get better, big mileage becomes easier.  For me, in the right weather, long rides are quite a pleasure.  One of the last ways that you can really get away from the stress of daily living.  Motorcycles aren't as forgiving as cars when it comes to thinking of other things while driving.  However, it is precisely this need for focus and attention that makes riding a motorcycle such a good way to get loose.     Personally, I get more satisfaction from a clear head than I will ever get from praise for the opposite end of the anatomy. 10 application/xml false Iron Butt long ride Motorcycle Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 mpadway false true false false true 201650 false false true false false false true 106832 blog blogsite/MichaelPadway/web
