Legal Mills Targeting Motorcyclists

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Every once in awhile, I am astounded by marketing.&nbsp; This week, it really hit home that the big legal mills have discovered motorcycle accidents.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; First, I received a call from a client with hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills from a clear liability accident.&nbsp; She hasn't been able to work since the accident, and still has serious ongoing medical issues.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Turns out that she found a motorcycle lawyer, who shipped her case to someone else to handle, and the case has been sitting for two years.&nbsp; She didn't know that nothing was happening, until she found out that the case had recently been filed with the court.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The more I learn about her situation, the more indefensible it is for her lawyer to have been sitting on this case.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It took me a couple of hours, and phone calls all over the country, but I feel confident that I was able to associate a lawyer on the case who will take care of it.&nbsp; And I'll be following myself, until she gets the kind of result she is entitled to.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The next day, I get a phone call from a group of &quot;motorcycle lawyers&quot; who do hugely expensive marketing on television, in magazine ads, and through motorcycle lifestyle events.&nbsp; Turns out, this is all aimed at doing a huge volume of cases, without (in my opinion, based on my conversation) much of a care factor for doing a good job on the cases.&nbsp; Volume, volume, volume.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I've never had much interest in running an office with a lot of not very good lawyers handling too many cases, and not taking the time to really help the clients and do a good job.&nbsp; We see far too many serious injuries in this area, to not take it seriously.&nbsp; I'll never understand law firms that treat this like just another business.<br /><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Enough of a rant, except to say that if you or someone you care about has a lawyer that doesn't seem to be paying attention, they may not be paying attention.&nbsp; <br /> 10 application/xml false file suit good job legal mill motorcycle accident motorcycle lawyer serious injuries Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 mpadway false true false false true 201650 false false true false false false true 106829 blog blogsite/MichaelPadway/web
