Foot Dragging While Riding

A Great Way to Cause a Serious Injury
Just when I thought I'd seen everything, I seem to have noticed more riders doing peculiar things with their feet that I have noticed in the past.

One rider had his legs straight out, just off the pavement, feet to the back.  I assume he was stretching, but he was doing this on the freeway.  I can guarantee you that it is impossible to quickly control the motorcycle well when you are in this position.

A few were pointing their toes down, almost to the pavement, or dragging their feet below the pegs.

These riders reminded me of the column that Larry Grodsky wrote about the Stayin Safe participant who was dragging his foot, and ultimately caught it.

Please people!  We all know that the feet, ankles, legs, and lower limbs are the areas most likely to be injured in a motorcycle accident.

    Let's not ask for it.
