| September 30, 2008 | | 27% Increase - No One Knows Why | I recently heard that the CHP figures show motorcycle deaths in Northern California are up 27%.
This is an incredible statistic, if not news to anyone who follows these things. Again, no one knows why this is. Therefore, no one knows what to do about it.
As a motorcycle lawyer, I deal with accidents on a daily basis. While I prefer cases where the rider will "get up and ride" eventually, there is no avoiding those unfortunate cases where the accident ends the motorcyclists riding days, or even marks the end of the rider's life.
I wish some great data miner would at least give some direction to the well intentioned many who want to lessen the risks associated with motorcycling. I can't help thinking that the public has such a poor image of riders as being "donors" of body parts, that they simply don't give enough of a hoot to make this the priority it should be.
