| December 18, 2007 | | Kawasaki ZX-10R to Incorporate Traction Control | Computers have transformed both cars and motorcycles in the last few years, but motorcycles have lagged cars in some areas.
Now Kawasaki is adding traction control to it's ZX-10R for next year.
This cool addition is designed so that it will kick in only in the most limited of circumstances - when you inadvertently start to lose traction. As the computer feels the tires start to slip out, it will retard the ignition to slightly slow the bike.
One thing that is totally cool about this, is that the unit also measures input from the rider via the throttle.
If you are a stuntah, want to wheelie, or are good enough to do a deliberate powerslide, the traction control will leave you alone.
From where I sit, this is a great step forward.
