| September 17, 2007 | | Soon to Be Available Sportbike | The new Buell is absolutely loaded with good technology. 146 claimed hp, and 374 pounds. Centralized mass. Cool parts all over the place.
It's a shame that Buell could not produce an engine in the United States that would work as well as the Rotax engine of this new bike. That said, no more complaints.
Everything about this bike seems right. Belt drive, narrow everything, fuel held in working parts of the motorcycle.
This really seems to be "the way it 'sposed to be" over at Buell.
You can only go so far with an ancient engine configuration. Not only does this motorcycle bring the engine up to date, but the use of computer modelling is really used everywhere to make this sportbike the one to beat.
It will be exciting to see if it rides as well as it specs.
Never being satisfied, of course I am wondering what this will evolve into when they bring out a bagger with a slightly more relaxed riding position.
Good things to come.
