| August 28, 2007 | | Critical Skill for All Types of Riding | Keith Code teaches it as part of basic training, and focuses on it as part of advanced training for the track. Kevin Schwantz makes it a cental topic in his courses.
The MSF Safety people make it part of the curriculum for street riders.
Jerry "the motorman" Palladino teaches it as a critical low speed skill for tight spots and u-turns.
It's not only the all important skill of looking through a turn and looking where you are going, it is how you sit when you look, and even how much you look at.
It's hard to figure exactly why this works so well, but it has amazing results on your riding.
If you wanted to work on one part of your riding that would improve every riding experience, this would probably be a great place to make an effort.
Just as in golf, where taking the club back correctly sets up a great shot, looking correctly in motorcycling sets up a great turn.
And, after all, turns are what it's all about.
