| April 05, 2007 | | Full Report Soon | I briefly had my new riding jeans, that I want for a summer ride. I say briefly, because there was a small error in sizing, even though I sent a pair of comfortable jeans along to copy.
Nonetheless, it was amazing how comfortable these felt, even before the armor has a chance to mold. They truly seem to be more comfortable than regular jeans, and of course, for riding there is no comparison.
If these get even softer with use and washing, they will be a major improvement in riding gear.
At the same time, I also received a Kevlar riding shirt. This is interesting, because it is incredibly lightweight, with a nylon liner for comfort. Honestly, it seems too bulky for use as a shirt, but it should be ideal with a t-shirt for summer use. The weave looks like it will allow a tremendous amount of air to come through.
As soon as the jeans come back, I will try the shirt with it, and then I'll know better, I ordered the shirt in gray. Personally, I think it would be an improvement to go with at least some black or other color, but Kevlar doesn't dye easily, so colors tend to not be terrific.
As excited as I am about this new gear, there is something about leather that is just irreplaceable.
