| February 21, 2007 | | It Happens Earlier Every Year | I don't want to get into a global warming discussion, but recent warm weather sent me reeling into my annual spring fever.
Dizzying the number of concerns I have. Should I get new riding geat? Should I look at a hooligan bike (Yeah, sure. Like I do much riding where I don't need bags).
What rewards so far?
First, I am very impressed by the new riding gear. It looks better, seems like it would be more comfortable with the new armor, and I hope I can find enough selection somewhere to get a comfortable fit without having to go the custom route.
Second, I am more aware than ever that a bike with the right fit is addicting. I am always looking for that easy to ride motorcycle that just begs to be jumped on for every little trip to the store.
Third, I learned once again how good a bike feels when you get the tire pressures just right. I find, personally, that just a little pressure up from the factory settings makes the bike feel great in the corners. Remember, I have aluminum rims, and that little extra pressure supposedly protects them from damage. Yeah, I know that a little softer has other benefits.
What next? Naturally, it rained on my parade. No sooner did I get into the mode, than rainey season came back. Still, just a taste of spring fever was terrific.
