Need to ride as winter arrives

Rainy season sorts out the real riders
I have never been a fan of riding in the rain, which I realize is somewhat wimpy, expecially in California.

Nonetheless, with the change in time related to Daylight Savings, and the onset of rainy season, it just isn't appealing to ride in the wet and darkness.  Riding at night in traffic just isn't the safest thing you can do, and there are not a lot of things that make it better.

As a result, I am really feeling needy about wanting to ride for a day or two.  It almost feels like spring fever a whole season early.

I've noticed that whenever this happens, I am drawn to the details of the new bikes.  Triumph has an incredible lineup, BMW just went through the whole line, Harley of course has improved absolutely everything, and the Japanese models are starting to be hyped.

Not surprising, the new styling that looks more mechanical preying mantis than historic bike, is coupled with one electronic feature after the next.  No need to clutch, modulate brakes front and rear, no more skidding, air bags and air bag vests.  A dizzying amount of change, most of it for the better, a huge amount of it for the safer.

As I am writing this post, I just noticed that the sun is out.

Bye.
