Time for the Fever

Spring is Happening - watch yer _ss

Just spent some time online looking at the variety of summer activities.

As usual, Harley has the most incredible array of things to do all over the place, and with the new emphasis on women riders, a new dimension of the sport continues to grow.

Invariably, however, spring is also the time that rusty and new riders on rusty and new bikes get over exhuberant and don't take the time or don't have to patience to observe normal levels of safety.

Spring is the best time ever to take an MSF course, or the equivalent at any of the alternative opportunities.

Recently, I was winged by an SUV coming into my lane.  No big deal, just scraped one of my bags and put me into a wobble.  The villain scampered off down a side street while I regained my composure.

We all believe and understand that our safety on a bike is roughly equivalent to our ability to "see it coming" and avoid being in those situations, so my little event shook me up enough to really make me conscious.

Anyway, there are plenty of resources.  Statistics make it obvious that you are safer if you take advantage of them.

Plastic up - rubber down.  Have a safe summer.
